FOOD WITH A SMILE...

Chef Gary Bees passion for cooking began 25 years ago when he turned vegetarian but didn't really like vegetables(!), so he went about learning how to make the little blighters taste better! Loving vegetables now and having a passion for plant-based cooking, Gary likes to make wholesome nutritious home-cooked food that's delicious and colourful with all the wonderful flavours from around the world.
His first experience cooking professionally occurred at a unique retreat where he was responsible for providing nourishing meals during a course at a clown school in Spain. Throughout this delightful experience, he prepared and served 3 delicious plant-based and vegetarian meals a day for the eclectic group of students, ensuring that they had the energy and vitality needed for clown training. This formative experience helped by sharing the kitchen with many nationalities and picking up regional tips on the way, and shaped his philosophy around healthy, vibrant cuisine that nurtures both the body and the soul.

A life of an Artist...

Gary has a varied and fascinating background as an artist, working in multiple creative fields such as a Street Performer, a DJ, and even a Clown. More recently, he has taken a step into the world of wellness by becoming a certified yoga teacher, having successfully completed an intensive 200-hour Teacher Training program in beautiful Spain. Wherever life has taken him throughout these diverse experiences, he has consistently found himself immersed in communities and has truly cherished the vibrant community vibe that life offers. This strong sense of connection to others is what draws him to cook, as he sees himself as not just a chef, but also as a vital part of the community, the provider of nourishing food that brings people together.
